Staffing Firm Cuts Fees in Half for Christmas

Express Employment Professionals, which provides full-time and temporary job placement, human resources services and consulting, cut its fees in half on all new work assignments for associates with existing or new clients through Dec. 23, according to a recent Oklahoman article. About 200 candidates in the Oklahoma City area will benefit from the initiative, created to make the Christmas season brighter for many families.

The positions are mainly at distribution centers and warehouses and are short- and long-term administrative, professional and commercial positions, the article said.

“We look forward to paying it forward this Christmas by working with local businesses to help find jobs for unemployed workers in our community to help support their families this season,” Express CEO Bob Funk said in the article. “Our vision is to lock arms with businesses in Oklahoma City to bring hope to 200 families for the holidays.”

Staffing Expert Talks Holiday Hiring

Bobb Nealon, a metro market manager with staffing firm Robert Half International in Providence, joined The Rhode Show, a FOX Providence morning show, to discuss the seasonal job market.

Some highlights of his discussion include:

  • Seasonal work is a great way for unemployed workers to get their foot into the job market.
  • Retail is the first thing people think of when it comes to holiday hiring, but companies in a variety of industries often beef up their ranks.
  • Many professionals vacation during the holiday season, and to maintain productivity, companies can fill in with temporary professionals to perform tasks ranging from reception and customer service to data entry.
  • Temporary work is a great option for college students who are home from school between semesters or teachers who want extra income.
